Final Project
Statement
For my final project I started
off stating that I wanted to incorporate a variety of landscape photography
that focused on nature and creating a more abstract look. For the first two
weeks I struggled to find what I wanted to create for this project. However,
with the guidance and input you all gave me, along with
experimenting, I was able to hone in on what I wanted to do. I
began creating Marco photography that incorporated the stacking technique we
learned in class. I set off to create visually appealing, intricate
and perplexing photos of nature. I wanted my viewers to wonder what the
photograph is and how it was created. It took me some time to find
the medium between too abstract and too literal, but I believe I was able to
achieve that in my images. From personal experience, I find abstract images and
those that are open to interpretation are most memorable and I want to achieve
that with my project. At the end of my project, I wanted to have a variety of
different looking photographs when it came to color, texture, and
level of abstractness. When I stacked my images I wanted to merge images that
complimented each other and that when combined bring out the potential in
images. This course has helped improve on seeing things in a less literal
perspective, has pushed me to try things that I am less comfortable with and
had made me grow as a photographer. Ever since I was Introduced to stacking in
the course I felt that I could further make images my own and I am very happy
the way this project turned out. Thank you for helping me think outside my
norms.
